Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how Unbiased Marketing Limited (“Unbiased”, “we”, “us”, “our”), company number 13637069 , registered at 34-35 Clarges Street, London W1J 7EJ, collects, uses and protects personal data. We are committed to handling your information lawfully, fairly and transparently, in line with UK data protection law, including the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018.
Who this policy covers
This policy applies to personal data we handle about:
Visitors to our website;
Prospective clients and people who enquire about or engage our services;
Our clients and their staff, and the contacts we work with day to day;
Referral partners who sign up through our website;
Suppliers, freelancers and specialists in our network.
Client customer data. In the course of delivering our services, we often process personal data belonging to our clients’ own customers or audiences (for example within advertising platforms, CRMs and email tools). Where we do so on a client’s instructions, the client is the data controller and we act as a data processor. That relationship is governed by a separate data processing agreement with the client, not by this policy. This policy concerns the data for which we are the controller. See section 9.The information we collect
Information you give us
Identity and contact details, such as name, job title, company, email address and phone number;
The content of your enquiries, messages, form submissions and correspondence with us;
Information you provide when using tools on our website, such as our growth scorecard or calculators (for example, ranges and answers about your business);
Referral partner details, where you sign up to refer business to us.
Information we collect automatically
Technical data such as IP address, browser type, device information and operating system;
Usage data about how you interact with our website, collected through cookies and similar technologies (see our Cookie Policy).
Information from other sources
Publicly available business information (for example company websites, LinkedIn or Companies House) used for research and outreach;
Information from analytics and advertising providers about how our site and campaigns perform.How and why we use your information
We only use personal data where we have a lawful basis to do so. The bases we rely on are:
Contract — to provide our services, respond to enquiries, and manage our relationship with you.
Legitimate interests — to run and grow our business, including marketing to businesses, improving our website and services, carrying out research, and keeping our records accurate. Where we rely on legitimate interests, we balance them against your rights.
Consent — for certain marketing communications and for non-essential cookies. You can withdraw consent at any time.
Legal obligation — to comply with our legal and regulatory duties, including tax, accounting and fraud prevention.
Specifically, we use personal data to:
Respond to enquiries and provide the information or tools you request;
Deliver, manage and improve our services;
Send relevant marketing and updates about our services (see section 4);
Administer our referral partner programme;
Analyse how our website and campaigns perform and improve the user experience;
Meet our legal, accounting and regulatory obligations, and protect against fraud.Marketing communications
We may send you marketing about our services where we are permitted to do so, for example where you are an existing or prospective business contact and the message is relevant to your role. Every marketing email includes an easy way to opt out, and you can ask us to stop at any time by contacting us using the details in section 12. Opting out of marketing does not affect service-related messages we need to send you.How we protect your information
We take the security of personal data seriously and maintain appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect it against unauthorised access, loss, alteration or disclosure. These include access controls, device encryption, secure and vetted third-party tools, and internal policies covering data handling. No transmission over the internet or method of storage is completely secure, so while we work hard to protect your data, we cannot guarantee absolute security.How long we keep your information
We keep personal data only for as long as necessary for the purposes set out in this policy, including to satisfy any legal, accounting or reporting requirements. Enquiry and prospect data is kept for as long as there is a legitimate business interest in staying in contact; client records are kept for the duration of our engagement and for a reasonable period afterwards; and financial records are kept for the period required by law. When data is no longer needed, we securely delete or anonymise it.Who we share your information with
We do not sell your personal data. We may share it with:
Trusted service providers who help us run our business (for example cloud hosting, CRM, email, analytics and project management tools), who process data on our instructions;
Freelancers and specialists in our network, where relevant to delivering a service, under appropriate confidentiality obligations;
Professional advisers such as accountants and lawyers;
Regulators, authorities or other parties where required by law.
The main categories of third-party tools we use include cloud hosting and website tools, and Google Analytics 4 for website analytics. Each provider has its own privacy terms.International transfers
Some of our service providers are based outside the UK. Where personal data is transferred internationally, we ensure appropriate safeguards are in place, such as an adequacy decision covering the destination country, or standard contractual clauses / the UK International Data Transfer Agreement, so that your data continues to be protected to UK standards.When we act as a data processor
When we handle personal data on behalf of a client (for example running their advertising accounts, managing their CRM, or sending email campaigns to their audience), the client is the data controller and decides how and why that data is used. We act as their data processor and only process it on their documented instructions, under a separate data processing agreement that sets out our obligations, including confidentiality, security and assisting them with data subject requests. If you are a customer of one of our clients and have a query about your data, please contact that business directly, as they control it.Your rights
Under UK data protection law you have the right to:
Be informed about how your data is used;
Access the personal data we hold about you;
Have inaccurate data corrected;
Have your data erased in certain circumstances;
Restrict or object to our processing;
Data portability, where applicable;
Withdraw consent at any time where we rely on consent.
To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the details in section 12. You also have the right to complain to the ICO (www.ico.org.uk), though we’d appreciate the chance to resolve any concern first.Third-party links
